Toppers Pizza among new Fort Mill Square tenants

Fort Mill is getting a new pizza restaurant, one of several openings at Fort Mill Square.

We have recently signed leases with Toppers Pizza, Sport Clips and Regional Finance at the Fort Mill Square small shop building, said Kelley Glenn with WSB Retail Partners. Also, Five Star Nails is now open for business.

The additions leave just one vacancy in the building across from a new Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market in an overall plan remaking the center that sat almost completely vacant for a decade.

There is one remaining space that’s 2,300 square feet, Glenn said. It can also be subdivided to two spaces at 1,300 and 1,000 square feet.

Toppers Pizza franchisee Bill Stayduhar, a Fort Mill resident since 1979, said he has two other locations.

I have two in Charlotte that I’ve had for 19 years, but I’ve lived in Fort Mill most of my life, he said. I went to high school here.

Stayduhar said he plans to open the Fort Mill site by the first of October.

It’ll be the first time I can have a Toppers Pizza delivered to my house, so I’m exicted about that, he said.

The pizza shop plans to offer several ways for customers to enjoy its food, he said.

It will mainly be carry-out and delivery, Stayduhar said. We’ll also have a few bartops for people to eat, maybe some tables outside.

Sports Clips is expected to open about the same time as Toppers Pizza.

We are hoping to open at the end of September, said Ashley Jordan with Sports Clips. We’re shooting for Sept. 27.

The location specializes in haircuts for men and boys. The new Fort Mill site will be on par with other area franchise locations.

It will be extremely similar, Jordan said.
